CYUT students won the 2016 Red Dot: Best of the Best

Designers and companies from a total of 46 countries with more than 7,000 submissions took part in the 2016 Red Dot Awards in Germany and the students from CYUT have picked up 8 prizes, grabbing the coveted award--Red Dot: Best of the Best, in communication design category. Only 0.8 percent of the projects are recognized with the Red Dot: Best of the Best, the award for outstanding design quality.

The topnotch work, tasty great tea, was created by a team of students from the department of Visual Communications. The concept of brand design is to not only attract younger generations to enjoy tea but also make people feel relaxed and refreshed. “Through its new unique brand building, it wants to convey the messages of non-toxic ideas to the public, making people taste great tea from the natural environment, establishing a new image of tea plantations, highlighting the new tea culture, and bringing consumers the new visual enjoyment with inventive design thinking,” said Prof. Tai-Shen Huang, Dean of College of Design.

In recent years CYUT has fully promoted the three-creative education with innovative rolling teaching methods, constantly and diligently improving and breaking through traditional thinking of course design. “We hope our students learn wholly and with international perspectives. We got not only 2 Red Dot awards last year, but also more than 8 Red Dot awards this year,” said Prof. Tao-Ming Cheng, President of CYUT, “these award winning experiences have persistently encouraged us to cultivate our students in their professional fields with creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. We are in hope to become the cradle of creative talents for enterprises and industries in Taiwan.”
