CYUT grabbed 6 medals and 1 special award in ITEX 2017
2017 Malaysia International Invention, innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2017) in Kuala Lumpur has announced this year's winners. Over 1000 inventions from 20 countries participated in the competition. Under the leading of Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) and World Invention Intelligent Property Union, the representative team of Taiwan won 42 gold, 47 silver, and 15 bronze medals. Among total medals, CYUT grabbed 6 medals (2 Gold, 4 silver) and 1 special award at the event.
The work, "multi functions technology - agricultural pest control 4.0", by a group of students from the Department of Applied Chemistry and Department of information and communications, together with Chaoyang University Pheromones Center, won a gold medal and a special award. The invention of the pest warning display uses the long-acting pheromone attractants to replace pesticides, enhancing the efficiency of pest control.
"The application of image identification system to calibration function for forklifts "is another gold winning work. The students of CYUT installed a camera on a forklift truck to shoot images, matching the shot images with real-time technology. This invention helps to make sure that not only operators can judge accurate distances between pallets and forks, but also loads can be correctly stacked and positioned across both forks, reducing the rate of damaged goods and preventing accidents happened.
