CYUT subsidized elite students to travel and study in UK
  • elite students to travel and study in UK

The 16th Study Tour Exhibition was held by Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation to show students the benefits and results of students’ growth after a series of study tour in CYUT’s Poding Memorial Library. These students went to CYUT’s sister university, University of Newscastle Upon Tyne for 25 days and they shared their experience and feelings with other students. Dean of Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation, Dr. Lin Su-Chuan, said that students can make their dreams come true by traveling to experience different cultures. However, due to the lack of money, many students feel frustrated. CYUT has helped students fulfill their dreams and since 1995 has initiated the plan of elite student selection every year to provide 22 students with subsidy. Qualified students must undergo a series of trainings such as leadership, language ability, communication skills, and international etiquette. Those students will be arranged to pay a visit to CYUT’s sister universities for a month of overseas study tour. So far, 319 students have fulfillment their dreams.
