Turkish TV host Ugur Rifat Karlova shares 20-year journey in Taiwan
To promote cross-cultural exchange, CYUT’s Department of Marketing and Logistics Management invited Turkish comedian, TV host, and YouTuber Ugur Rifat Karlova (Wu Feng) to speak on April 24. Known for his humor and fluency in four languages, Karlova shared highlights from his 20-years in Taiwan, offering insights on cultural integration, career development, and personal growth.
A Golden Bell Award-winning host, Karlova has become a beloved media figure in Taiwan, with over 640,000 followers on Facebook and nearly 400,000 subscribers on YouTube. In a lively dialogue with Turkish faculty member Dr. Serhan Demirci, he discussed cultural differences between Taiwan and Turkey and how diverse perspectives enhance marketing and brand storytelling.
Encouraging students to pursue their goals with confidence and resilience, Karlova emphasized the importance of developing diverse interests and maintaining a global mindset. “Live in a way that both your 7-year-old and 70-year-old selves can be proud of,” he said.
The event concluded with Karlova filming a short video with students and faculty, showcasing the power of social media to connect people through creativity and shared experiences.
This talk is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to internationalization and to preparing marketing professionals for success in a global environment.
