CYUT celebrates Class of 2023 graduates

Doubtlessly, this year's commencement was the most anticipated one over the past few years. Graduates can finally enjoy an in-person graduation ceremony after the pandemic. The event, which took place in the auditorium on 27 & 28 May, was filled with cheers and applause, honoring the accomplishments and resilience of 3,036 graduates. President Cheng Tao-Ming encouraged graduates to explore international views and embrace challenges with confidence and courage.

Andri, a Ph.D. graduate in Business Administration, delivered an impassioned valedictory speech that resonated with graduates. He expressed immense gratitude to professors and mentors for always having their backs and teaching them the attitude and spirit one should uphold as a scholar and researcher. He encouraged fellow graduates to believe in their potential in pursuit of a better world.

This year’s commencement was particularly unforgettable for the College of Aviation as it was their first time celebrating the first batch of graduates in aeronautical engineering. It was a blissful culmination of years of hard work and dedication by faculty and students. Given the recovery of the aviation industry worldwide, airline companies are eager to hire these graduates, and 80% have secured a position in aircraft maintenance where the career prospects are promising.

The school has specially themed the campus decoration with the concept of Fly the Nest, wishing graduates to spread their wings like birds and courageously carve their future. As the ceremony concluded, graduates dispersed from the auditorium, merrily taking photos with friends and families at attractive photo spots such as the Bird Nests, Rainbow Sports Track, and Boarding Gates, carrying with them memories that last a lifetime.
