The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023 included 1,591 universities from 112 countries. CYUT is proud to be one of the listed universities for the fifth consecutive year and remains first among private technological universities in Taiwan, ranking 401-600. The rankings assessed university performances in research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching against the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, covering economic growth, social advancement, and environmental protection.

CYUT performed exceptionally well in SDG 1 (No Poverty), listing 79 worldwide. Other excellent achievements included SDGs 4 (Quality Education), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 14 (Life below Water), and 15 (Life on Land). The school pledged to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045. It provided over 4,000 SDGs-related courses for all students and faculty members. The campus has a green coverage rate of over 94%, creating a habitat for diverse animal species. CYUT’s green efforts made it to the Top 100 in the UI GreenMetric World University for 6 straight years. It also won certification from the Environmental Protection Administration Taiwan as one of the environmental education venues.

CYUT has put great effort into developing new agriculture and sustainable environments. Its contributions to agricultural waste recycling and green economies won the school various global awards, including the Gold Medal in the International Warsaw Invention Show (IWIS), America’s Science & Invention Expo (ASIE), and the International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX Malaysia). Entering the Impact Rankings is an international recognition for the unfailing commitment of all members of CYUT towards sustainability.
