The CommonWealth USR University Citizen Ranking ranked nationwide on university social responsibility. It referenced the Impact Rankings of the Times Higher Education (THE) and the 17 SDGs of the United Nations to assess performance in university governance, teaching commitment, social engagement, and environmental sustainability. CYUT ranked first in environmental sustainability out of 145 entries this year. Additionally, it ranked No. 1 in social engagement among private colleges and universities. CYUT has appeared in this ranking for four consecutive years, and it is a testament to its commitment to bringing positive and lasting changes to the community and environment and fostering the younger generation as SDG-literate global citizens.

CYUT committed to achieving a yearly 2% reduction in carbon emissions and pledged net zero by 2045. It installed solar, hydroelectric, and wind power systems to generate renewable energy, reducing reliance on fossil fuels. As part of its mission, the school offers courses on energy conservation, disaster prevention, ecology, and water resources that promote environmental literacy. Through award-winning USR projects, teachers and students worked together to revitalize rural areas and promote green economies, earning recognition from all walks of life.
