CYUT unveils the India Alumni Association
CYUT celebrated the establishment of the India Alumni Association on 16 June 2023. Kumarasamy Keerthika, who graduated with Ph.D. in Biochemistry, was recommended as the first chair. She praised CYUT for its rich academic resources and quality research environment, making it the first choice for Indian students studying in Taiwan. She treasured the opportunity to serve Indian alums, pledging to do her best to unite the community and promote the relationship between India and Taiwan regarding academic, economic, and cultural development.
President Cheng Tao-Ming mentioned that over 600,000 Indian students are studying abroad yearly, becoming the world’s second-largest source of international students. Indian students studying at CYUT mainly focus on applied chemistry, environmental engineering, information management, or business administration. He appreciated the diversity, diligence, and devotion that Indian students demonstrated. They helped raise the research capability and academic performance of CYUT. He hoped the India branch could strengthen the global impact of the school.
After the India branch, the school will toast the formation of the Japan branch in July. It is a prelude to the founding of the CYUT Global Alumni Association when the school celebrates its 30th anniversary next year.
