CYUT Hosts SSIM International Conference: Advancing New Dialogues in Social Sciences and Technology Management

The 4th International Conference on Social Sciences and Intelligence Management (SSIM 2024), organized by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT), has successfully concluded. This year’s conference focused on New Trends in Social Sciences and Intelligence Management. Renowned keynote speakers included Professor Qian Qu from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Professor Ting-Chia Hsu from the National Taiwan Normal University. The two keynote speeches are a starting point for academic exchanges between humanities and digital technology through the speakers’ in-depth analysis of public issues and personalized learning with AI.

With 195 conference papers submitted to SSIM 2024, scholars and experts from Bangladesh, Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Poland, Latvia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Mainland China, and Taiwan shared their academic findings and practical insights. The discussions explored the impact of digital technology and public issues on the humanities, social sciences, and intelligence management, as well as strategies to address these challenges. The attendees all spoke highly of this conference.

Professor Tao-Ming Cheng, President of CYUT, emphasized in his opening remarks that technological issues have become a crucial educational trend, opening new perspectives in humanities and social sciences. CYUT has been ranked among the Times Higher Education (THE) global top universities for eight consecutive years and is listed in the QS 2025 World University Rankings for Sustainability, the only private technological university in Taiwan to achieve this honor. He expressed hopes for ongoing international and interdisciplinary academic collaborations, focusing on sustainable development to enhance global visibility and research capacities for faculty and students.

Professor Liza Lee, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, highlighted in her opening remarks that the SSIM 2024, now in its fourth year, has consistently demonstrated CYUT’s power of international exchanges through fruitful academic research and positive feedback on previous conferences. In the future, the College will strive to fulfill its educational responsibility by incorporating both humanities and technology to promote CYUT’s academic reputation and influence.
