CYUT and APEX Group sign MOU to develop cross-disciplinary sustainable talents

CYUT and APEX Group signed an MOU on March 19 to enhance industry-academia collaboration and develop cross-disciplinary talent focused on sustainability. The agreement was signed by CYUT President Tao-Ming Cheng and APEX Group Chairman Scott Chang. The partnership will collaborate through CYUT’s New Southbound International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE), focusing on smart logistics, sustainable construction, visual design, and new media, broadening students’ global perspectives and strengthening their competitiveness.
President Cheng emphasized that cultivating sustainable talent is central to CYUT’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through its A2I Smart Industrial Technology R&D Center, CYUT will integrate AI and big data into logistics and supply chain management. The university will also offer diverse internship and work opportunities for international students from Vietnam, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan, helping address industry workforce needs. Additionally, collaboration with the Departments of Civil and Construction Engineering, Communication Arts, and Visual Communication Design will enhance practical training in green building, marketing, and media management.
Chairman Scott Chang noted that APEX Group’s strong presence in retail, construction, and commercial entertainment aligns closely with CYUT’s academic programs. With over 42 years of industry experience, APEX Group believes that sustainable talent development is essential for long-term success. He called this partnership a major milestone in bridging academia and industry, providing students with hands-on learning and career opportunities in logistics, warehouse management, retail, sustainable construction, visual design, and new media and preparing them for success in the global workforce.
