Safety Guidelines for Summer Break

The summer break will run from June 23 to September 14, 2025, with classes resuming on September 15, 2025. Dormitory check-out inspections for the First Dormitory will take place from June 20 to June 22, and the dormitory will officially close on July 1. Students may return to dormitory starting September 6.

Students are encouraged to plan their break responsibly and refer to the academic calendar for important dates. For health and safety, we urge students to engage in meaningful, constructive activities and avoid unsafe environments or situations that lack proper safety precautions.

  1. Off-Campus Activities
Students are encouraged to take part in university- or student government-organized activities. Avoid high-risk venues such as dance halls, bars, or nightclubs to protect your personal safety.
  2. Fraud Prevention
(1)As scam tactics continue to evolve, students are urged to stay alert. Criminals may impersonate friends or family over the phone, using fake emergencies (like traffic accidents or hospitalizations) to commit fraud. To avoid becoming a victim, or having your bank account misused to scam others, always stay cautious and protect your personal information.
(2)According to police reports, fake investment scams are the most common form of fraud. Follow the “3 Do-Nots, 3 Musts”:
    • 3 Do-Nots:
      1. Do not trust vague or unverified investment information.
      2. Do not join unknown online investment groups.
      3. Do not use apps or platforms promising "guaranteed profits."
    • 3 Musts:
      1. Stay cautious of messages or individuals promoting investment schemes.
      2. Verify information through licensed brokers or call the anti-fraud hotline (165).
      3. Report suspicious activity to law enforcement (dial 165).
  3. Traffic Safety
Always follow traffic laws and signals. Do not drive without a valid license, and never drive under the influence. Avoid street racing and other dangerous or illegal behaviors.
  4. Part-Time Job Safety
Refer to the Ministry of Labor's "Workplace Tips" and adhere to the “3 Musts” and “7 Do-Nots” for safe employment:
(1)3 Musts: Verify the job offer, ask questions, and inform someone of your work location and schedule.
(2)7 Do-Nots: Do not pay fees, make purchases, sign contracts blindly, leave your ID unattended, engage in illegal work, take unknown substances, or apply for unauthorized bank cards.

If your labor rights are violated, contact the local labor office for assistance.

  1. Activity Safety
When participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or water sports, consider your physical condition, check weather forecasts, and avoid dangerous or unsupervised areas (e.g., bodies of water without lifeguards).
  2. Drug Abuse Prevention
There has been a rise in online drug recruitment, particularly targeting youth. Group drug use, especially involving hallucinogens, can lead to reckless behavior, increased risk of infectious diseases, and serious harm to mental and physical health. It can also strain families and negatively impact personal futures and social stability. Drug use is extremely dangerous and should never be taken lightly.
  3. Online Gambling Prevention
Avoid engaging in illegal online gambling or betting games. These activities are illegal and can cause serious personal and financial harm.
  4. Crime Prevention
Stay away from illegal acts such as street racing, theft, aiding criminals, joining gangs, or engaging in unlawful transactions.
  5. COVID-19 & Other Respiratory Infections
Practice good hygiene, including frequent handwashing. If you have a fever or respiratory symptoms, or when in crowded or poorly ventilated areas, or while using public transportation, wearing a mask is strongly recommended.
  6. Emergency Contact & Incident Reporting
If an emergency occurs during the break, please contact the CYUT Security Center, which provides 24/7 support:
    Hotline: 04-23320808 / CYUT Mobile App / 04-23323000 ext. 3043.
