Forging the Future of Farming: CYUT Unites Experts for Green Agriculture

CYUT, known for its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recently held the “2025 Innovative Agriculture Forum” in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education’s USR program, and Special Interest Group (SIG) partners. The forum focused on primary agricultural processing, smart farming technologies, and carbon neutrality, bringing together experts, farmers, and students to explore sustainable transformation in Taiwanese agriculture.
Vice President Sung-Chi Hsu highlighted that the event integrated SIG resources to support the full agricultural process—from cultivation and processing to logistics and safety inspection. Bing-Lan Liu, Dean of the College of Science and Engineering, emphasized that interdisciplinary collaboration strengthens both smart farming and sustainable development, while bridging USR efforts and industry partnerships.
Forum speakers highlighted practical outcomes in areas like eco-friendly farming, food processing, cold chain logistics, pest forecasting, and carbon tracking. The projects also involved student participation, helping train the next generation of smart agriculture professionals.
Experts from government, academia, and industry shared insights on topics such as net-zero farming, digital monitoring, food safety, and rural economic development. Through these collaborations, CYUT continues to lead in sustainable agriculture innovation.
