Tai-Tian Chen, Director of Taichung’s Construction Bureau, praised the competition for showcasing sustainable green planning, the integration of exercise and nature, and cultural park photography. He emphasized that Taiwan’s young designers are demonstrating remarkable creativity and commitment to sustainability, and that the contest helps nurture future talent while raising awareness of carbon-neutral parks.
Chen-Yu Lien, Director of CYUT’s Department of Landscape and Urban Design, highlighted that the department has collaborated with the city for seven years on the “Taichung Melody Park Project,” advancing initiatives such as solar-powered facilities, low-carbon transportation, and sustainable park design. He added that the department remains committed to inclusive, eco-friendly public spaces. This year’s forum, themed “Net-Zero Parks × Green Futures”, further reinforced the importance of integrating aesthetics, ecology, and sustainability into park development to make Taichung greener and more livable.
