CYUT Named One of Taiwan's Top 10 Sustainable Universities for the Second Year

CYUT has been honored once again by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) as one of the Top 10 Sustainable Universities in the 2025 TAISE Sustainability Awards. The university was recognized for its achievements in sustainable strategy, governance, financial planning, environmental performance, and social engagement.

President Tao-Ming Cheng stated that CYUT’s commitment to integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its development plan has earned strong global recognition. CYUT has been ranked in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for eight consecutive years, included in the THE Impact Rankings, and is the only university in Taiwan to be listed in the 2026 QS Sustainability Rankings.

CYUT continues to lead in environmental sustainability through its green campus initiatives, smart energy management, biodiversity conservation, and long-term net-zero goals. At the same time, the university incorporates sustainability across academic programs and encourages student innovation, resulting in international design awards and partnerships that promote eco-friendly public spaces.

In social responsibility, CYUT’s international volunteer teams have served communities across Africa and Asia, while USR teams support local revitalization, food and agricultural education, and intergenerational learning. These efforts earned CYUT top honors in the CommonWealth USR University Citizen Awards, reinforcing its position as a national benchmark for sustainable development.
