CYUT Christmas Giving Tree Brings Warmth and Hope to Children in Need
CYUT, together with the Pording Foundation, held the 2025 Christmas Giving Tree Lighting Ceremony, inviting the community to help fulfill 365 Christmas wishes from children supported by the Yunlin Family Center. Each wish hangs on a four-meter Giving Tree, shining with dreams and hopes of children from rural and disadvantaged families.
Director Chih-Wen Liao of the Yunlin Family Center expressed deep gratitude to CYUT and the Pording Foundation for bringing joy to children who rarely receive gifts. He highighted the support reaches families across 20 townships, making the holidays a little brighter for those who need it most.
President Tao-Ming Cheng shared that the Giving Tree initiative, now in its fifth year, has already helped more than 1,500 children see their Christmas wishes come true. This year, CYUT faculty, students, and community members once again came together to create warmth, connection, and hope. He emphasized that this effort reflects CYUT’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially ending hunger, promoting well-being, supporting quality education, and reducing inequalities.
Pording Foundation CEO Huan-Ju Yang underscored the foundation’s long-standing dedication to educational care and support for disadvantaged youth. She hopes the Christmas Giving Tree will continue to inspire more “guardian angels” to step forward, helping children learn, grow, and pursue brighter futures with confidence and joy.
