CYUT Earns QS 2026 Sustainability Ranking for Third Consecutive Year
CYUT has been listed in the 2026 QS World University Rankings: Sustainability for the third consecutive year, ranking among 2,001 universities worldwide. The university remains the only private technological university in Taiwan to be included, with particularly strong performance in Environmental Sustainability and Health and Well-being.
The QS Sustainability Rankings are based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and assess universities across environmental, social, and governance dimensions. President Tao-Ming Cheng emphasized that sustainability is a core pillar of the CYUT’s development strategy. In terms of governance, the university offers more than 4,000 SDG-related courses, has established the Steering Committee of Sustainable Development, reduces annual energy consumption by 2%, and has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.
On the environmental and social fronts, CYUT actively promotes a campus that harmonizes with ecological systems, pioneers innovative energy-saving technologies, and advances climate change education. The university has also built a strong University Social Responsibility (USR) ecosystem, supporting circular economy practices, intergenerational education, rural revitalization, and digital equity. Through local and international engagement, including long-term participation in Taiwan’s Digital Companions for Learning Program and global volunteer initiatives, CYUT has benefited more than 27,000 people worldwide, reinforcing its commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and solidifying its role as a global model for sustainable universities.
