Drive Smart This Winter Break — Practice Defensive Driving

🔔 Stay Alert and Anticipate Hazards
Traffic increases during winter break and the holiday season. Stay aware of road conditions, pedestrians, and nearby vehicles, and anticipate potential risks ahead of time.

🚦 Follow Traffic Signals and Slow Down
Slow down at intersections, in residential streets, and in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic. Always obey traffic signals and avoid speeding or running red lights.

🛵 Maintain a Safe Following Distance
Whether you are driving a car or riding a motorcycle, keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you to allow enough time to react to sudden stops or emergencies.

👀 Watch for Pedestrians and Blind Spots
Be especially cautious near schools, tourist areas, and busy shopping districts. Look out for pedestrians and be aware of blind spots around large vehicles. Always yield to pedestrians.

❄️ Use Extra Caution in Poor Weather
Winter weather may bring low temperatures, slippery roads, or reduced visibility. Reduce your speed, turn on your headlights, and avoid driving while tired.

Avoid Drunk and Distracted Driving
Holiday gatherings are common during this season. Never drive under the influence of alcohol and avoid using your phone or engaging in other distractions while driving.

❤️ Defensive Driving for a Safe Break
By prioritizing accident prevention and looking out for yourself and others, we can help create a safer traffic environment and ensure a safe and enjoyable winter break for everyone.
