CYUT and Taichung City Government Host Women's Empowerment Forum
To mark International Women’s Day and align with the 2026 theme “Give to Gain,” CYUT’s Department of Social Work collaborated with the Taichung City Government Social Affairs Bureau to organize the Taichung Women’s Empowerment Forum, bringing together female leaders from the technology, industry, and public sectors. The forum explored how institutional support and community collaboration can help women build professional capacity and expand their social impact, highlighting the important role women play in urban development.
The event featured keynote talks and panel discussions focused on women’s empowerment and social impact. Speakers shared perspectives on women’s roles in technology, industry, and public policy, as well as strategies for transforming professional expertise into meaningful contributions to society. Industry leaders also discussed practical experiences in business management and the development of women-friendly workplace policies, emphasizing the growing influence of women in corporate leadership and economic development.
The forum is part of a broader International Women’s Day initiative organized by CYUT’s Department of Social Work through the Taichung Women and New Immigrant Empowerment Platform. To raise awareness of women’s empowerment and gender equality, a series of related events, including community activities, marketplace collaborations, and a public exhibition titled “Her Luggage and Stories,” were also held. These efforts support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5): Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, while strengthening community engagement and promoting sustainable urban development.
