CYUT Library Sets New Benchmark in Smart, Inclusive, and Sustainable Learning

As higher education continues to evolve, university libraries are becoming dynamic hubs that integrate technology, human-centered design, and interdisciplinary learning. CYUT’s Poding Memorial Library has undergone a major transformation, emerging as a modern, smart, and sustainable learning center. Designed as a “Digital Knowledge Hub” for today’s students, the library combines innovative spaces with advanced services, earning widespread recognition for enhancing both learning experiences and academic engagement.

The library emphasizes inclusivity and flexible learning environments. It features a dedicated prayer room for Muslim students, accessible self-service systems, and adjustable desks to support users with disabilities. A wheelchair lift provides direct access to key facilities, ensuring seamless mobility. The popular iSpace area offers a blend of group discussion zones, quiet study areas, and collaborative spaces, while multimedia and VR zones provide immersive learning experiences that further enrich student engagement.

Academically, the library strengthens research support through faculty consultation services, interlibrary loans, and partnerships that expand access to both print and digital resources. It has also introduced AI-assisted tools to improve research efficiency and adopted the OCLC WorldShare Management Services cloud system to enhance operational effectiveness and information security. Reflecting the impact of these initiatives, CYUT has achieved strong performance in research visibility and full-text thesis usage, with its citation count ranking first among private technological universities in Taiwan for 13 consecutive years. Building on this foundation, the library continues to implement a strategy that enhances knowledge access and capability while promoting sustainable development, positioning itself as a leading platform for innovation, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
