CYUT Continues 9-Year Run in THE Asia University Rankings
Times Higher Education (THE) has released its 2026 Asia University Rankings, with CYUT once again earning a place among Asia’s top universities. making it the only private technological university in Taiwan to be ranked for nine consecutive years.
The THE Asia rankings assess universities across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry engagement. CYUT demonstrated strong performance in research quality and international outlook, reflecting its commitment to advancing research excellence while expanding global collaboration.
According to President Tao-Ming Cheng, CYUT has consistently focused on “intelligent sustainability” and “international development” as its core strategies. The university has established partnerships with over 640 institutions worldwide and hosts more than 1,000 international students from 28 countries, reinforcing its global presence. In addition to its continued success in the THE Asia rankings, CYUT has also been recognized in the THE World University Rankings 2026, QS World University Rankings 2026, and the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2025–2026.
To strengthen its research capabilities, CYUT actively participates in international talent and research programs such as the Ministry of Education’s Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) and the International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP) initiated by the National Science and Technology Council. The university has also earned global recognition, with 12 faculty members listed among Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists.
CYUT continues to advance applied research through key areas including smart manufacturing, non-destructive testing, sustainable agriculture, and ESG-driven development, while expanding into aerospace technology. Through industry collaboration and interdisciplinary education, the university is cultivating globally competitive talent equipped to address real-world challenges.
