Global Cultures Come Alive at CYUT International Cultural Festival

For three days, CYUT transformed into a vibrant global village. From May 12 to May 14, the university’s International Cultural Festival brought together students from 25 countries, turning the campus into a lively space filled with color, flavor, and cultural exchange.

International students took the lead as cultural ambassadors, sharing the traditions of their home countries through food, fashion, and storytelling. Festival-goers sampled a diverse range of dishes—from Southeast Asian specialties to Central Asian favorites—while cultural fashion shows highlighted traditional attire and offered a visual celebration of global diversity. The event created opportunities for students and faculty to experience different cultures in an engaging and accessible way.

The festival reflects CYUT’s broader commitment to building an inclusive and internationally connected campus. According to President Tao-Ming Cheng, the university continues to prioritize internationalization alongside its focus on innovation and sustainability. CYUT has established partnerships with more than 640 institutions worldwide and hosts over 1,000 international students, creating a dynamic multicultural learning environment.

Students say these experiences go beyond the classroom. For many international students, CYUT provides not only academic training but also a strong sense of community. Cultural events, exchange opportunities, and campus activities help students build connections and gain global perspectives that enrich their university experience.

Today, CYUT’s international community spans five continents and 25 countries. Events like the International Cultural Festival serve as a platform for cross-cultural dialogue and mutual understanding, strengthening students’ global awareness and communication skills.

By bringing cultures together on campus, CYUT continues to create opportunities for students to engage with the world, demonstrating how international education can be experienced not only abroad, but also at home.
