CYUT Strengthens Global Profile in U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings
CYUT has been listed for the third consecutive year in the 2026–2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings, which evaluated 2,250 leading universities across 105 countries. CYUT was also included in the Best Global Universities in Asia ranking for the third straight year. In subject rankings, CYUT has appeared in Engineering for four consecutive years and in Computer Science for two consecutive years, where it remains the only private technological university in Taiwan to be ranked.
President Tao-Ming Cheng said the recognition reflects the university’s long-term commitment to global engagement, sustainability, and academic research. CYUT has established partnerships with more than 640 institutions worldwide and maintains active collaborations with universities and organizations in the United States, Germany, Japan, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries. The university currently hosts more than 1,000 international and overseas students from 28 countries across five continents. In addition to its U.S. News ranking, CYUT has also been recognized in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2026 World University Rankings and the QS 2026 Sustainability Rankings, further highlighting its academic and social impact.
CYUT’s strong performance is supported by continued progress across several academic fields. The College of Informatics has expanded research and industry collaboration in AI, IoT, big data, edge computing, robotics, UAVs, smart manufacturing, digital media, and smart commerce, while several faculty members have been named among the world’s top 2% scientists. The College of Science and Engineering has strengthened research through centers focused on non-destructive testing, sustainable agriculture, and environmental resource reuse. The College of Aviation has built Taiwan’s first integrated aviation trainig environment and works with airlines to train future aviation professionals. CYUT was also listed in the THE 2026 Subject Rankings for Engineering, Computer Science, Business and Economics, and Education Studies, underscoring its growing global influence and leadership among Taiwan’s private technological universities.
