The Ministry of Education held the 2026 National Meeting for University Extracurricular Affairs Leaders on August 20 and 21, bringing together student affairs professionals from colleges and universities across Taiwan. CYUT hosted the first day of the event.

With the theme “AI Leadership, Empathy, and Shared Growth,” the two-day meeting focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, social-emotional learning (SEL), and student club advising. Through keynote talks, hands-on workshops, and cross-campus exchanges, participants explored new ways to support students in an increasingly AI-driven environment.

Ministry of Education representatives emphasized that while technology can improve student services, understanding, respect, and care must remain at the heart of education. CYUT Vice President Sung-Chi Hsu also highlighted that learning extends beyond the classroom, with clubs, service learning, and extracurricular activities playing an important role in developing students’ communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

The program featured sessions on AI applications, cybersecurity, SEL, leadership, and best practices in student affairs. The meeting concluded on August 21 with workshops, policy briefings, institutional sharing, and discussions aimed at creating more resilient, supportive, and innovative campus communities.
