The Council for Hakka Affairs of Taichung City Government recently launched an interactive cultural experience at the historic Zhang-Liao Family Temple in Xitun District. The event was organized by CYUT Office of Continuing Education.

Designed for families, the activity featured on-site puzzles and challenges that introduced participants to Hakka culture, the history of the Zhang-Liao family, and the temple’s architectural features. Through storytelling, language learning, and hands-on activities, visitors explored local history in a fun and engaging way.

The program transformed the historic site into an interactive learning space, with challenges inspired by traditional architectural elements such as the temple pond, swallowtail ridge, and brickwork. Participants learned about the cultural significance and practical functions of these features as they completed each challenge.

The activity reflects CYUT’s commitment to community education and cultural preservation. CYUT will continue working with the Council for Hakka Affairs and local partners to promote Hakka language learning, cultural heritage, and intergenerational engagement through family programs and community activities.
