Jia-Ming Zhang, a CYUT Business Administration EMBA alumnus and Chairman of Wei He International Corp., donated NT$200,000 to support the Wanfeng Elementary School baseball team after it won Taiwan’s national qualifier for the 2026 Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series and earned the opportunity to represent Taiwan in the United States.

Many of the players come from rural and Indigenous communities with limited resources. Zhang’s donation helped ease the financial burden of international travel and allowed the students and their families to focus on preparing for the competition. NU PASTA, a brand under Wei He International Corp., also hosted a special send-off meal to encourage the young athletes before their trip.

CYUT praised Zhang’s support as an example of how alumni can use their professional success to give back to society. The university has long encouraged students and alumni to turn their knowledge, experience, and resources into meaningful contributions to their communities.

The initiative also reflects CYUT’s commitment to the United Nations SDGs, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By supporting young athletes from underserved communities, promoting equal access to opportunities, and bringing together schools, businesses, and community partners, the effort shows how education and social responsibility can create lasting impact.
