CYUT USR Brings Healthy Mid-Autumn Flavors to Lunxi Community
CYUT’s Department of Applied Chemistry USR team joined forces with Yunlin’s Lunxi Community to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with a hands-on cooking event centered on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Participants created dishes such as pomelo chicken soup, dragon fruit milk snowflake cake, and fresh vegetables with sausage and basil, giving familiar holiday foods a fresh and healthy twist. The event brought students and community residents together to cook, share meals, and learn more about healthy eating, food and agriculture education, and the importance of supporting local produce.
The event also highlighted CYUT’s ongoing work in agricultural safety and sustainable rural development. Through food safety technology, agricultural product testing, and community education, the USR team aims to raise awareness of where food comes from, how it is produced, and why quality and sustainable farming matters. CYUT will continue working with the Lunxi Community to connect university expertise with local agriculture and everyday life, promoting safer farming, healthier eating, and more sustainable rural communities.
